About the founder
Michael Smith is an energy economist who has worked in think tanks, consulting firms and political campaigns. He was driven to use that experience to facilitate the installation of clean energy infrastructure across Delaware. Michael founded Powering Our Future to do exactly that, and now serves as our Executive Director.
Energy efficiency
Energy efficiency is simply using less energy to complete the same task. Not only does energy efficiency protect the environment, it can provide significant savings for homeowners by lowering their utility bills. The energy efficiency programs offered by Powering Our Future help households promote a cleaner, better future.
Electrification
Electrification is the process of converting a device or system to run on electricity, bringing benefits like cleaner air, lower energy costs and better health. To help promote electrification in Delaware, Powering Our Future provides rebates for residents to purchase electric versions of typically gas-powered devices.
